To nourish and cultivate the Awake Seed, the organizing committee recommends that participants, whether from afar or nearby, fully immerse themselves in the retreat environment throughout its duration. In daily life, our inner world is often busy with thoughts, worries, and distractions. Therefore, entering the retreat, the first couple of days serve as a time to relax and settle the mind. Living within the Awake Sangha, within the spacious and serene environment of the meditation center, provides an opportunity to turn inward and understand oneself more deeply. In the subsequent days, participants will receive the illuminating and transformative teachings of the Awakened Ones, helping to recognize the presence of both the ‘Lotus’ (the potential for Enlightenment) and the ‘Mud’ (attachments and defilements) within. The Awakened Zen Masters continuously shed light to reveal the ‘I Am Lotus’ nature within, motivating participants to aspire for Enlightenment and liberation from suffering. In the final days of the retreat, many participants experience a profound inner shift, releasing attachments to the self. From this point, the horizon of Enlightenment unfolds, paving the way for liberation. Participants henceforth carry the Awake energy to be applied in their daily lives.

However, due to specific reasons, if participants cannot stay for the entire duration, please inform the organizing committee in advance through the registration form, allowing for the efficient management of your attendance.

To maintain the rules, quality, and information about the entire retreat, on the first day of the retreat, all participants are required to attend the Mandatory Retreat Orientation. Please refer to the retreat rules on the Universal Door Meditation Center website.

RETREAT SCHEDULE

The entire retreat spans from the morning of the first day to the evening of the final day. Please refer to the SCHEDULE on the Universal Door Meditation Center website for specific dates.

Daily schedules will be updated based on guidance from the two Awakened Zen Masters, depending on the circumstances and levels of participants in the retreat.

RETREAT FEE

In order to ensure the continuous, lasting, and beneficial organization of the retreats, the participating practitioners are requested to pay a retreat fee to cover the costs of the retreat (including meals, accommodations, utilities, food, and daily necessities). Additionally, if you wish to stay a few days before or after the retreat, please specify on the registration form; there will be an additional fee based on the number of extra days. All fees should be completed one week before the retreat.

Upon arrival at the Universal Door Meditation Center for the retreat, aside from the personal fee, at the end of each retreat, all participants join in collective offerings to the two Awakened Zen Masters. The initial offering establishes a karmic connection with Enlightenment, seeking the guidance and realization of the Mind of Enlightenment within oneself. The subsequent offering supports the construction of the Enlightenment Center – Universal Door Meditation Center, to swiftly provide a comprehensive venue for learning and practice, drawing people worldwide to embark on the path of Enlightenment and liberation from the cycle of birth and death.

CANCELLATION POLICY

The retreat organizers aspire for participants to have the opportunity to study under the guidance of the two Awakened Zen Masters and receive the invaluable treasure of Awake teachings. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, if participants need to cancel their participation, kindly inform the organizing committee as early as possible. Note:

** If you are unable to attend the retreat, the fee you have paid can be used for the next retreat within 6 months. After this period, the fee will be transferred to the fund for offerings and karmic connections to Enlightenment, adding merit to your journey.

** If you are unable to complete the full retreat, the remaining fee will be used to contribute to the offerings and karmic connections to Enlightenment, generating further merits for you.
